AI Is Starting to Build Companies

TL;DR

AI is starting to do the early work of building a company. Polsia, whose founder said it had zero employees, neared a $689K annual revenue run rate within two months.

  • Building fast stops being the hard part
  • Polsia's AI asked to raise money itself
  • AI still cannot decide what to build

Polsia describes itself as “AI that runs your company while you sleep”. In a March 2026 interview, its founder, Ben Cera, said the business had zero employees. Less than two months after launch, it was nearing a $689K annual revenue run rate. The company says its AI system does work that once needed a small team.

That changes how a business starts, because a company’s first version no longer needs a long setup or months of coordination. The product can be built, the website launched, ads run and customer support started.

For years, founders could blame slow progress on the cost and complexity of building a company. An idea might sound promising, but launching it was too technical, too slow or too expensive. AI systems like Polsia weaken that defence. If AI can handle much of the early building, building fast stops being the hard part.

Cera’s own account of the system goes further, past building and into the day-to-day running of the company. In a post on X, he said the system told him it needed more computing power and that it should raise the money itself. So he gave it his inbox for 14 days. On Product Hunt, a site where new tech products are listed and discussed, the page for Polsia says the system was also negotiating with investors.

The same page shows the weakness that all this speed exposes. One commenter there dismissed Polsia as “a swirling vortex of AI slop”. Cera did not try to sidestep the criticism and replied, “Some of it, honestly, yes.” He added that the system was producing real web apps, real databases, real email addresses and real marketing campaigns, and that quality was improving every week. When output becomes cheap, the market gets more of it before the quality improves, so easier execution makes judgment more important.

A system may be able to keep a company moving, but it still cannot make the decisions that remain the hard part. They come down to what to build, why it should exist and whether people will care enough to use it or pay for it.
